Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act

FDUTPA is a statutory cause of action set forth in Chapter 501 of the Florida Statutes.

As with most causes of action, there is a strict time limit for bringing a cause of action under FDUTPA. Specifically, the statute of limitation for bringing a FDUTPA claim is four (4) years from the date of the event giving rise to the FDUTPA claim.
